Supporting the Next Generation of HVAC Professionals at MCTC
At Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, we believe in fostering a culture of learning and growth. While there are many ways to build a career in HVAC, trade schools play a key role in developing professionals. That’s why we proudly support Minneapolis Community & Technical College (MCTC), where aspiring technicians gain hands-on experience for success in the industry.
A Legacy of Skilled Training
MCTC has been training HVAC professionals for nearly 30 years, offering multiple paths, from certificates to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Many talented technicians have come through this program, including our very own Lionel, Ty, and Alex.
Enhancing Hands-On Learning
This year, we donated essential HVAC equipment, including air conditioning condensers and A-coil evaporators, to support hands-on training in:
- Replacing and wiring units
- Brazing repairs on copper coils
- Vacuum pulling and leak detection
These resources ensure students graduate with practical skills they can immediately apply in the field.
Why Trade School Support Matters
Trade programs like MCTC often operate with limited funding, and donations can be matched by state grants to expand resources. Beyond equipment, our team visits classrooms to share real-world insights, helping bridge the gap between education and industry expectations.
A Bright Future in HVAC
HVAC offers stability, growth, and competitive benefits. Many professionals start as technicians and move into management or leadership roles. Whether through formal training or hands-on experience, the demand for skilled workers makes HVAC a rewarding career choice.
We’re proud to support MCTC and the future of the HVAC industry. Interested in learning more? Visit MCTC’s website here.
