“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
– Maya Angelou.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it seems an especially appropriate time for those of us at Standard Heating to extend our grateful thanks to our many loyal customers. We appreciate your patronage and your willingness to tell others about the good experience you’ve had with us.
We also thank our fellow Minnesota Keystone members, all of which help make the Twin Cities a great place to work and live.
2015 marks Standard Heating’s 20th year as a Minnesota Keystone member. The Keystone Program, sponsored by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, highlights businesses that make giving back to the community an important part of their business culture.
Minnesota Keystone was founded in 1976 as the 5% Club. The leaders of 23 Minnesota companies pledged 5 percent of their pre-tax earnings to be given back to the community and challenged fellow CEOs to do the same. Later, the club was renamed the Minnesota Keystone Program, and the requirement for membership was set at 2 or 5 percent of pre-tax earnings donated.
How have we qualified for Minnesota Keystone Program recognition for nearly two decades?
Simply by making giving back a priority. Our long-time recognition by the Keystone Program is an important honor because it reflects the value we place in supporting and sustaining our Twin Cities community.
Standard Heating provides support to several non-profit organizations promoting education and literacy, including the Hennepin County Library System’s PenPals Series and the Northside Achievement Zone in Minneapolis. We promote community health through our support of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and the annual “Challenge for Children’s” paintball tournament.
Customer Voices Contribute to Our Giving
Our customers also play a key role in directing our philanthropy through Standard Heating’s “5 for $25” annual drive. When someone we’ve worked with writes a valid online review of his or her experience, Standard Heating expresses gratitude by donating $25 to a non-profit of the customer’s choice.
During 2015, the “5 for $25” program resulted in donations valued at over $8,000 to a wide range of worthy non-profit organizations such as the Animal Humane Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and The Lift Garage, which offers low-cost car repairs to help move people out of poverty and homelessness.
As Thanksgiving approaches, everyone at Standard Heating would like to leave you with this thought:
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”
– John F. Kennedy, November 5, 1963
We thank you all for helping us do this.
